Love Teaches

Love teaches you so much about yourself,
It mirrors some of the deep feelings you thought buried,
It forces you to come face to face with your moments of weakness
The times you need a little more tenderness
Love teaches you to let go and let someone in
To give love if you want to receive love,
Love teaches you that you aren’t perfect and the right person won’t expect you to be
Love teaches you that you have to be your own saviour, but that real love can heal
Love teaches you trust.
Deep guttural trust,
Love teaches you to give up control,
Love teaches you that connection and intimacy shows itself in many forms,
Love teaches you that for the right person, you will be enough.
Most of all, loving yourself teaches you how to love.
