I look forward to the day when you no longer hang your coat on the chair,
To it hanging proudly and confirmed in the closet.

I look forward to the day, I no longer have to wonder when we’ll see each other,
To being safe in the knowledge that your face will greet me at home,

I’ll be comforted by the fact that each night I will be in your arms,
Feel it wrapped so warmly and steadily around me,
Around us.
I look forward to knowing your every gesture and move so intimately, we don’t need words,
I anticipate challenges,
But I will embrace them because they will only strengthen my bond.
