Sitting in a field of wildflowers,
Wondering if the age old tradition still stands,
As the wind whips past my tear soaked face,
I snatch a dandelion and dig deep,
I want this one wish to come true,
It’s been a while since I have indulged in childish abandon,
But my heart has been heavy lately and nothing else seems to work,
Closing my eyes, visualizing
I let out the air suddenly as the seeds scatter in the breeze
How long do I wait before I start to cry again?
I know they say not to speak your wish out loud, but I especially want it to come true,
All I really want is you…
