Wash Away

Your kisses,

Left on my skin,

Your fingertips,

Trail marks on the side of my waist,

Your beautiful eyes

Follow me as I walk around the room,

I don’t want any of them to wash away,

Sometimes I delay taking a shower,

So your scent can linger on my skin,

Just a bit longer,

Your smell sunk deep in my pillow,

Any reminder of you is welcomed,

A strand of you shed hair left on my shirt,

Your t-shirt draped over my chair

I look across the room and think of the space you filled just minutes before,

I don’t want any of you to wash away,
